A message from Broad Impact Network

founder Julie Nemitz

Women are the majority. Literally. There are more of us on the planet. But somehow despite centuries of work, we don't yet have the influence we want, need, deserve and have earned.

The arts and entertainment industry is still largely controlled by men, so making our opinions and preferences known is crucial as we work to close that gap.

Supporting and promoting works created by female-identifying artists so they are seen by larger audiences and those of influence is more important now than ever.

Here are facts supported by data: women decide where the majority of entertainment dollars are spent and where a family's time is allocated.

This set of facts is the foundation that fuels Broad Impact Network’s potential and, well, impact. I hope you'll join me and be an active part of my mission to create a strong and vibrant community space for us.

My first priority is to create a community for women like us to connect, collaborate, and support one another as artists and supporters of the arts. Providing resources and opportunities for you is what energizes my mission every day.

My second priority is to ensure we work collectively to uphold the freedom to create in our society by supporting the projects and female-identifying artists we believe in.

Sir Thomas Bacon said it best, "Knowledge itself is power." There are forces challenging arts programming — implementing bans, censoring music, and cutting arts education programming — on nearly a daily basis. Broad Impact Network members will combat challenges like these collectively by voting with our wallets -- and our activism.

When we know better, we do better.

There is power in numbers. As a marketer, I understand the power of “scale.” There is impact when large groups mobilize around a focused mission. Change can and does occur. I believe that. We can influence. Women can do a better job impacting freedom of speech and what creative works are put out in the world. We can also do a better job of convening and celebrating together.

Please join me. All female-identifying people of any age are welcome. It's going to be an exciting and important year ahead.

Let's do this!

Through the power of community and our collective voice, the Broad Impact Network champions women artists, connects its members meaningfully, and shapes the future of the creative arts.

Our Mission

Broad Impact Network is a fearless community of women who are done waiting for the creative arts to change—we’re here to make it happen. We uplift female creators, fund women-led projects, and use our collective voice to demand better representation and equity in the creative world. But we’re not just advocates—we’re creators, too. Whether you're an artist or a supporter, this is a space to spark new ideas, collaborate on bold projects, and celebrate the creative process together. Here, you don’t just wish for change—you create it.
